You've Dug Through Five Drives for the Signed Copy and Watched Three ARR Numbers Disagree…

This Time, Your Data Room Is Ready Before They Ask.

From: Michael Barrick

Dear director,

Investors don't fund the deck. They fund what the data room proves.

But most data rooms get built in a panic. The lead investor sends a request list, and suddenly the company is hunting for the signed consent, the 83(b) and the contract its first customer signed three years ago.

And the part every director should worry about is the thing nobody caught: a cap table that doesn't match the SAFEs, or a revenue number that's different in the deck and the books.

It doesn't have to work that way.

I've spent more than ten years studying how boards and companies run, and I started Board Director Institute, a company I founded, to teach directors and future directors how good boards actually work.

These 36 Claude skills put that thinking to work for you, so your room is organized, every claim has a source, and you find the problems before the investor's team does.

What Claude Skills for Investor Data Rooms Are, and How They Work

36 standalone Claude skills that cover a data room from the first folder to the last question on the diligence call. Each skill is a small file you upload once. It teaches Claude to run one diligence job the same careful way every time.

The skills follow seven stages: set up the room, the company and legal record, financials, customers and market, product, tech and data, review and open the room, and the diligence itself. Use them in order for a full raise, or pull one skill tonight for the cap table or the runway number.

Each skill asks for your files first, cites the file and page behind every finding, keeps every conflicting number instead of picking one, marks anything missing as [needs data], and checks its own work before you see it. The Plan Your Data Room Route skill picks the right ones for you.

What You Can Expect

From Claude Skills for Investor Data Rooms

The skills follow the order a real data room gets built: set it up, prove the company record, tie out the financials, show customer and product proof, check everything, then run the diligence. Every skill also works on its own for a single file, number or question.

Questions Founders Ask About Claude Skills for Data Rooms

What does this pack help me do?

It helps you build an investor data room and get through due diligence: plan the room, organize the company record, tie out the financials, back up every claim, find the red flags first, then answer the request list and the questions.

Do I have to use all 36 skills?

No. Each skill stands on its own. Run them in order for a full raise, or pull one when you only need the cap table, the runway number or the request list.

Is this only for venture rounds?

No. The skills work for SAFEs, priced rounds, bank and growth loans, and selling the company. Plan Your Data Room Route asks which one you're doing and picks the route.

How do the skills get into Claude?

Each skill is one folder with a single file. Upload the ones you need in Customize → Skills, then ask in plain words or name the skill in your prompt.

Do I need a paid Claude plan?

No. Skills work on Claude's free plan. Large rooms with many files run more smoothly on a paid plan.

Do the skills store or share my data room?

The skills don't host your data room or send it anywhere. They are instructions that help Claude organize and check the files you give it. Files you upload to Claude follow Anthropic's privacy policy and your Claude account's data settings, so check those, and your company's AI rules, first. You still need a secure place to keep and share the room.

Is it safe to use with confidential files?

Only in an AI tool your company has approved. Every skill reminds you of that. If in doubt, remove names, salaries and customer details first.

What if a document is missing?

The skill says so. It never invents a signature, approval or contract. Anything missing is marked [needs data] with who should find it.

Is there a course that shows me how to use them?

Yes. Investor-Ready Data Room with AI is a short Board Director Institute course. It shows you what to type, how to answer Claude's questions and how to fix what comes back, stage by stage on a made-up company, and ends with a Certificate of Completion.

Is this legal advice?

No. It's general education, not legal, tax or accounting advice. Where the law or the numbers matter, each skill tells you what to check with your lawyer or accountant.
